2019 ELLA “Latina Lifetime Achievement” Award
ELLA recognizes Lisa Fernandez for the Latina Lifetime Leadership award in the sport of Fastpitch Softball.
One of the most recognizable names in the sport of softball, Lisa Fernandez is a three-time Olympic Gold Medalist, having helped Team USA to victories in the 1996, 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games. In 1996, Fernandez shined in the United States’ 3-1 gold-medal victory over China, recording the final three outs to earn a save. She went 1-1 with a 0.33 ERA in softball’s inaugural appearance in the Olympics in Atlanta.
Besides all her accomplishments, Liza Fernandez is extremely proud and honored to be a Latina and a true role model and ambassador for the game of softball for current and future generations.
ELLA is proud to make Lisa Fernandez the first ever ELLA recipients of the Latina Lifetime Leadership award!

ELLA gives back to the community by providing advise to a group of 14U softball players on the transtion from middle school to high school and provides tips on travel softball, showcases, college recruitment and the importance of academic excellence!

ELLA Sports Foundation busca ayudar a las atletas latinas a culminar sus sueños deportivos
Liliana “Lilly” Travieso tenía unos 6 años cuando comenzó a mostrar interés por el deporte. Para la edad de 8 años sus padres la inscribieron en clases de beisbol y después de softbol.
La joven sintió que el deporte era su pasión y sus padres la apoyaban llevándola a todas las clases que necesitaba y comprando uniformes, gastos que se elevaban en cientos de dólares por mes.

Bridging the Gap Through Sports
